Hurley Martin Jenkins, 72, of Caddo Mills, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, in Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services will be Monday, March 30, 2009, at 10:30 AM, in Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Randall Bost, Rev. Jim Anderson and Joe Carroll Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Caddo Mills IOOF Cemetery.
Mr. Jenkins was born in Caddo Mills on November 15, 1936, the son of Herley Jenkins and Beckie Ann Webb Jenkins. On July 19, 1957, he married Sarah Nesbitt in Caddo Mills, He was retired from the Land Purchasing Department of Mobil Oil Company and was a cattle rancher. He was a member of the Faith Bible Church in Caddo Mills and a member of the Texas and National Red Angus Associations.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife, Sarah Jenkins of Caddo Mills; sons, Joe Russell Jenkins of Greenville and Jeffrey Martin Jenkins and his wife, Melissa of Rowlett; granddaughter, Jessica Kath of Mesquite; grandson, Jaxon Jenkins of Rowlett; sister, Wanda Jenkins Gilmore of Caddo Mills and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister, Letha Jenkins and a brother, Carless Jenkins.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Piazza, Jeff Johnson, James DeWeese, Robert Nash, Justin Johnson and Tony Gavin.
Visitation will be Sunday, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
