Evelyn M.Ray

 Evelyn M. Ray, age 87, of Greenville passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009 at

Greencrest Manor Nursing Center.  Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Combs officiating.  Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ray was born on November 11, 1921 in Campbell to Alec and Lucille Duncan Ethridge.  On July 17, 1939, she married Lee Delbert Ray in Cash.  She was a homemaker and a longtime member of  First Baptist Church of Cash. 

Her survivors include her son, Donny Ray and wife, Susan of Greenville; two granddaughters Tracy Dicken and husband, Jeremy and Laura Cox and husband, Ryan;

brothers Bill Ethridge of Tucson, Arizona and Phillip Ethridge of Greenville; and a sister Becky Crabtree of Greenville

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 2002; brothers Aubrey, Kenneth and Sammy Ethridge; and sisters Johnnie Morris, Pat Gray, Janice Jolley, and Dorothy Davenport.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Jolley, John Long, Frank Wilhoit, Don Fulton, Jerry Morrison, and Stan Patterson with Gary Stapleton and James Poe as honorary pallbearers.
