Betty Elizabeth Bailey, 74 of Greenville, passed away July 11, 2009 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in the Chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. Marvin Mosley and Rev. Samuel Glenn presiding. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
Betty was born on December 18, 1934 in Greenville to Edgar Edward and Nannie Bell McCormack Owens. She married Burke Bailey on February 3, 1955 in Greenville. She was of the Baptist faith. Betty worked at Raytheon as a contract administrator, retiring after 40 years of service.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Burke of Greenville, a daughter Sherrie Bailey White of Greenville, a sister, Ruth Norris and husband Paul of Cash, four grandchildren, Falon White and Damon White of Greenville, Tiffany Elkins of Sulphur Springs and Zakery Krohn of Greenville, and two great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Kaedynce.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Steve Bailey, one brother and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Webb, Wayne Daugherty, Damon White and Marc Kleiber.
