Edgar Burl Hood, 83, of Greenville, died Thursday, July 23, 2009, at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. Memorial services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, July 26, 2009, in Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Larry Allgood officiating.
Mr. Hood was botn January 27, 1926, in Rogers, Arkansas. He was the son of Calvin J. Hood and Essie Hughes Hood. He was an electrician and a member of the Assembly of God church, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by sons, Johnny Hood of Greenville, Larry Hood and his wife, Kim of Greenville and Fred Hood and his wife Norma of Campbell; daughters, Linda Mercer and her husband Loran of Greenwood, Florida and Tina Seaman and her husband Keith of Greenville; three brothers; four sisters; sixteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Hood, a son, Jerry Hood, his parents and three brothers.
The family requests memorials be made to the Muscular Distrophy Association.
