Stella MaeSampson

 Stella Mae Sampson, 95, of Greenville passed away Aug. 10, 2009, at Greencrest Manor Nursing Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Randy Daw officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery.Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.She was born May 12, 1914, in Merit to Mack W. and Eva Mitchell Pugh. On Aug. 31, 1939, she married Charles Wayne "Tubby" Stonestreet; he preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1953. She then married Truman Ward Cathey; he preceded her in death; she married Hershell Sampson who also preceded her in death. She was a devoted housewife and member of the Johnson Street Church of Christ.Surviving are her son, Eddie Stonestreet and wife Sue of Greenville; a son-in-law, David Bolton of Keller; granddaughters Kim Patterson and husband Thomas of Lone Oak, Kelly Welborn and husband Blake of Yorktown, Va., and Kristie Chapman and husband Kyle of Rogers, Ark.; eight great-grandchildren, Clint and Casie Patterson, Colton, Kaden and Keaton Chapman, Chase Gladden and Austin and Duncan Welborn; and a sister, Alma Jones of Greenville.In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; loving daughter and caregiver Jane Bolton on April 9, 2004; and sisters Alvis Rhoden, Mable Biffle, Maxie Gilmore and Jesse Rainwater.Pallbearers will be Thomas Patterson, Clint Patterson, Bart Calahan, Steve Gilmore, Wayne Gilmore and John Paul Willaby.The family wishes to acknowledge a special friend and caregiver, Carol Simpkins.
