She was involved in the formation of the Greenville Saddle Club and served as it’s first secretary.  She was room mother for her children’s school classes and was involved with the Campbell 4H with her sons.  She and her dear friend, June Thomas, served as chairpersons for the Hunt County Fair Show Queen contest for several years in the late 60’s.  She was so proud of their accomplishment in providing a memorable event for the young ladies elected to represent their local schools.  She truly loved being involved in the Hunt County Fair, working there, entering items in many different categories and teaching her granddaughters to make jelly to enter in the cooking category.  She was a wonderful cook, making holidays especially joyous occasions for her famiy.  She also enjoyed gardening and volunteering for the Salvation Army.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharron Grant of Lone Oak; sons Brett Ray Grant of Lone Oak and Stephen Grant and wife, Karen of Greenville; brothers-in-law Rev. O. J. Andrews of Allen and Harold Grant and wife, Pat of Cooper; grandchildren Sara Murphy of Rockwall, Abby and Amanda Grant of Greenville, Bethany Grant of Wisconsin, Brooke Grant of Henderson, Nev.,  Tara Lovell and husband Jason of New Braunfels, and Lee Harris and wife, Tracy of League City;  great-grandchildren Morgan Lovell of New Braunfels, Zane Shelley and Lynnlee Harris of League City; and many nieces and nephews of the Andrews and Grant families.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Billye Andrews; and a son Walter Arnold Grant.
