Helen Marie Eldridge, 67, of Greenville passed away November 16, 2009, at Briarcliff Health Center. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009, in the the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Paul Gould officiating. Interment will follow at McWright Cemetery.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m.Wednesday, November 18, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Eldridge was born August 8, 1942, in Hunt County to Matthew Nathaniel and Mattie Marie Samples Gregory. In March 1981 she married Charles D. Eldridge in Greenville.
She was a homemaker and worked as a housekeeper for local nursing homes. She was a member of the former Bethel Baptist Church.
Her survivors include her husband of Greenville; her daughter, Judy Higginbotham and husband Bobby and granddaughter Shelby Higginbotham, all of Greenville; sisters Patty Gregory Dotson and Mary Gregory Blankenship and husband Bill, all of Greenville and Dorothy Gregory Reynolds of Commerce; brothers Joe Gregory of Caddo Mills, Matthew Samuel Gregory of Celeste and William Paul Gregory and wife Elaine of Celeste; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold Eugene Gregory and sister Linda Gregory Rosenbalm.
Pallbearers are Ronnie Steen, Eugene Gregory, Jimmy Rogers, Bradley Blankenship, David Gregory and Chris Findley.
