Benton Moore
Benton L. Moore, 99, of Greenville passed away on March 22, 2010 at Briarcliff Health Center. Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Marvin McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Moore was born February 1, 1911 in Peniel, Hunt County, Texas to Wallace D. Moore, Sr. and Bertie Puckett Moore. In 1939, he married Ina P. Green in Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on July 26, 1999. He was the retired owner of the Peniel Grocery and a retired expeditor for Esco Mfg. Co. He was a member of the Peniel Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include his son Larry N. Moore and wife Bonnie of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren Terri Gammill of South Fork, Colorado, Brett Moore and wife Darla of Greenville; Amy Potteiger and husband Brad of Bridgeport, Texas, and Mike Moore and wife Kim of Sulphur Springs and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was also prededed in death by his parents, brothers Horace, Hubert, and W. D. and sisters Ruby, Ila, and Catherine.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jerry Clyde Coker, Jimmy Wade Moore, Charlie Floyd Green, Bobby Charles Moore, Joe Little and Joe Halliburton.
