Larry Ferguson, 67, of Campbell, went to be with his Lord and Savior after a hard fought battle with renal failure and lymphoma cancer.  Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 25, 2010, at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Robert Sexton and Rev. Larry Jordan officiating.  Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.

Larry was born in Greenville, Texas on August 2, 1943, the son of William Earl Ferguson and Edith Dale McDonald Ferguson.  He married Shirley Coker on March 27, 1964.

In 1965, he went to work at E-Systems in the Security Department.  He worked there for 10 years and due to a layoff he went to work for Hulcher Emergency Services, Inc.  He was a heavy equipment operator that put derailed trains back on the tracks.  He loved that job, but due to Hulcher’s relocation, 10 years later he went back to E-Systems (L-3) and worked there until his retirement in 2009.

Larry and his family lived in Greenville all his life.  He was a charter member of Reavlon Baptist Church for about 26years.  After moving to Campbell, he and his family became members of First Baptist Church.  He was ordained as a Deacon there in 1983.

He and his family bought land in Campbell in 1970, planning on becoming a part time farmer and rancher.  He entered the cattle business in the early nineties.  Deciding that he needs to have something to do after retirement, he began accumulating equipment to do a custom hay bailing service.  Triple F Farms developed.  He loved working with his sons and grandsons but soon had more business than he could manage.  Larry was working at L-3 at night and feeding cows and bailing hay during the day leaving very little time for rest.

On December 31, 2008, he became ill with kidney failure.  Dialysis was started in February of 2009 and in December of that year he was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer.  He began a hard battle with dialysis and chemo.  Chemo was not successful and he was too weak for further treatment.  He chose to come home to be cared for by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ferguson and sons Jeff and Susan, Jarred and Rhonda and Justin Ferguson; grandsons, Josh, Jacob and Bailey Ferguson and granddaughters, Reagan, Heather and Payton Ferguson.  He is also survived by a sister Charlotte Williams and husband, Jimmy; mother-in-law, Mazie Coker; brother-in-law, Jim Coker and wife, Cindy and their family; and sister-in-law Barbara Kilgore and husband, Jackson and their family; and nephew, Aaron Williams.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Josh, Jacob and Bailey Ferguson and nephews, Matt Kilgore, Andy Kilgore, Charlie Coker and life time friend and “blood brother” Jimmy

Kilgore.

The family requests memorials be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
