Myrtle A. Zinanni, 93, of Amarillo, formerly of Greenville, Texas, died November 30, 2010 in Amarillo.

Rosary will be held at 6:30 PM Thursday, December 2 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas with visitation following from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  Services will be held at 10:00 AM  Friday, December 3, in St. Williams Catholic Church in Greenville with Bishop Douglas Deshotel, Father Paul Weinberger and Deacon Lee Davis officiating. Myrtle was born August 9, l9l7, in Leming, Texas, to W.C. and Mary Kalka Eichman -- one of eight children.  The family moved to Pleasanton where she spent her youth.  Myrtle married Willie Zinanni in 1947 in Monahans, Texas and then moved to Levelland, Texas where they raised their three children.  Myrtle started as a Bell Telephone operator and advanced to head of the office before she retired.  They moved to Greenville, Texas in the late sixties; she worked at Bowie Elementary School.  Willie and Myrtle retired and shared twenty great years of fishing, traveling, and following their grandchildren’s activities. They were also active members in Knights of Columbus.   She was an active member and held many offices of the Women’s Guild at St. Williams Catholic Church.   Myrtle was a strong, loving Christian and took great pride in her faith. She loved being surrounded by her family and many friends; her favorites were always her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.  Myrtle’s life was blessed and enhanced by many wonderful friends and she took great consideration and pride in keeping in contact with the many who had touched her life.

Myrtle enjoyed watching her family members in their sporting activities regardless of what they were, where they were, and how far she had to go to get there.  She had  a great love for Texas sports including the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks.  She kept up with these teams, their records and schedules with great enthusiasm.

Myrtle was preceded in death by Willie Zinanni, her beloved husband of 52 years, her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and one grandson.

Survivors include three children Janice Lee of Wilson Texas, Tinkey Mayfield of Amarillo Texas, and Bill McKenzie of Pearl City, Hawaii; sister Marjorie Talley of Floresville, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Mandy Seaton, Traci Brazille, Ty Mayfield, Kerrie Wright, Tod Mayfield, Jeni Laguizamon, Jason McKenzie, and Jill Morphis; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
