Alvin C.Shields

Alvin C. Shields, 72, of Denison passed away December 20, 2010 at Carrus Specialty Hospital in Sherman.  A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Memoryland Memorial Park with Larry Eason officiating.  Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Alvin was born September 21, 1938 in Malakoff to Arden C. and Winnie Rozell Shields. He served in the United States Navy and was a truck driver.  He attended Greenville schools and Grayson County College. He was of the protestant faith.

His survivors include his son Alvin Shields, Jr. of  Sherman; granddaughters Ashley, Catelynn and Lexi Shields; sister Gayle Burchett of Mesquite; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Allen Clark Shields.
