Bill Hinds

William Ross “Bill” Hinds, 85, of Greenville, died Friday, February 18, 2011, in Legend Health Care in Greenville.  Graveside services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday at Forest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, with Dr. Kelly Carr officiating.

Mr. Hinds was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 5, 1925.  He was the son of Clifford Hinds and Leslie Stowers Hinds.  On August 21, 1953, he married Joy Little in Durant, Oklahoma.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a Methodist.

Survivors include sons, Danny Ott and his wife, Avonna of Greenville and William Hinds, Jr. of Erie, PA; daughter, Kristy Fitzgerald of Katy, Texas; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Hinds; parents; one brother and one sister.
