Ellaweene Holley Hilbun

Ellaweene Holley Hilbun, 90, of Lone Oak, peacefully passed away Friday, March 18, 2011, at Briarcliff Health Center in Greenville.  Graveside services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at Prairie Valley Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Royce Litchfield and Rev. Roger Ratliff will officiate.  Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. 

Ellaweene was born February 25, 1921 in the Prairie Valley community to Charlie C. and Grace Almon Holley.  They preceded her in death.  She married A. G. Hilbun June 8, 1940.  He preceded her in death November 7, 2003.  Ellaweene was a long time member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church.

She is survived by a daughter Beverly Bell of Lone; a son Johnny Hilbun and wife, Joan of Lone Oak; grandsons, Johnny Hilbun, Jr. of Lone Oak and Steve Bell of Dayton, Texas; great-grandson, Dylan Hilbun of Pickton; sisters, Durene Bryant and husband Leo of Greenville and Charlene Smith of Lone Oak; brother, Charles Holley and wife, Stella of Greenville; sister-in-law, Faye Russell of Commerce; several nieces and nephews including Holley Tasa and Charles Husbands.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Tasa in 2007 and a nephew Jeff Smith in 2000.

A very special Thank You to all the staff at Briarcliff for their loving care shown her and her family, and also to the very special friends she had there.  She loved all of you.  Words of appreciation to Judy and Tammy with VITAS Hospice for the last few days you spent with her.  You will never know how much it helped.
