Richard EarlSanders

Richard Earl Sanders, 74, of Greenville passed away March 31, 2011 at Briarcliff Health Center.  Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Ralson officiating.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Born October 18, 1936, in Dallas, Richard was the son of Earl Lloyd Sanders and Leona Evelyn (Sauck) Carter.  On July 14, 1959, he married Victoria C. Giroir in Greenville; she preceded him in death in 2010.  He was a retired geodist for the defense mapping agency. 

His survivors include two sons Richard Sanders, Jr. of Houston and Rodney Eric Sanders of Syria; daughters Cynthia Walker of Mt. Sterling, Ohio and Sondra Sue Smith Johnson of Greenville; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.
