Lucille “Memaw” Worthy, born August 9, 1921 in Ellis County, TX, went to be in the presence of the Lord on July 22, 2011, passing peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.  Lou was a mighty prayer warrior, devoted mother, beloved grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and cousin, and a cherished and loving friend.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Above all, she was a good and faithful servant to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Greenville with Rev. Terry Blankenship officiating.  Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Married for 72 years, Lucille's devotion to her family was exceeded only by her devotion to Christ.  She and her husband John were longstanding members of First Baptist Church of Greenville.  She graduated from Garrett High School, where she excelled at basketball.  She was also retired from Ector County Library in Odessa, TX, where she served as supervisor over the Audio/Visual Department for twenty years.

Lucille was preceded in death by husband John Worthy; son John Worthy, Jr.; father James Glaspy; mother Dora O'Shields Glaspy; brothers James, D.M., and Alvis Glaspy; sisters Reba Toal and Willie Petty; granddaughter Lorri Faubion; and son-in-law Larry Melton.  Lucille is survived by daughters Patricia Faubion and Jan Melton; grandchildren Leo Faubion, Jr., Chelsea Kring, Amy Faubion, and Camin Melton; great-grandchildren John Parker, Forest and Hannah Livergood, Alex and Colby Kring, and Trenton Thornton; son-in-law Leo Faubion; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Leo Faubion, Leo Faubion, Jr., Camin Melton, John Parker, Forest Livergood, and Darren Kring.

As Memaw always said, good night, God bless you, and we love you.
