Odelia Maroney, 95, of Greenville, passed away November 5, 2011 at Greenville Health and Rehab. Services will be held at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m., Monday with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born April 1, 1916 in Aberfoyle, Texas, Odelia was the daughter of James (Shade) Shadrick and Clara Ernest Smithey. On December 19, 1935, she married Connie Eugene Maroney in the Jacobia Community in Hunt County, Texas. She was a registered nurse and a member of the South Sulphur Baptist Church.
Her survivors include her sons, Craig Maroney and wife Nancy and Kenneth Maroney all of Greenville; sister, Clara Mae Rich of Grangeville, Idaho; grandsons, Brad Maroney, Jason Maroney, Kenny Maroney, Randy Maroney; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and twin sister, Ophelia Humphries.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brad Maroney, Jason Maroney, Randy Maroney, Kenny Maroney, Chester LaVassar and Tommy East.
