J. E. Burkett

 

            J. E. Burkett, 75, of Greenville passed away January 4, 2008, at his home.  Funeral services are scheduled for 10 AM, Monday, January 7th, at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. James Ralson officiating.  Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.

            Mr. Burkett was born September 23, 1932 in Caddo Mills to James Cecil and Ruby Ray Williams Burkett.  He was married to Sally Jacks on September 1, 1973 in Greenville.

            Mr. Burkett was retired from Morgan, Davis, and Co.  He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and was on the board of directors of Shady Grove cemetery association.

            Surviving are his wife, son, Harold Wayne Burkett and wife Renee of Greenville; granddaughter, Ashley Burkett of Greenville; grandson, Joshua Burkett of PA.

            He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Louise Curtis Burkett and daughter, Pamela Kay Burkett.

            Pallbearers will include Billy Burkett, Jack Burkett, Gene Hulsey, Marvin Robinson, Don Williams and Leon Williams,

            Visitation will be Sunday, January 6th, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

            Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Shady Grove Baptist Church building fund.
