Leslie was an avid runner and won many trophies. He also had his private pilot's license and even flew to South Dakota to see his sister Martha. Every spring he helped a local Boy Scout troop get their aviation badges and he was an active volunteer with Junior Achievement.
He is survived by his sister Martha (Marty) Lindbeck, his brother-in-law Arlen Viste, and 5 nieces and nephews: Solveigh Viste in North Carolina, Mark Viste in Minnesota, David Viste in South Dakota and Darcy Schedler and Robyn Butler in Texas. He was a beloved uncle, co-worker, and friend.
He is preceded in death by his brother Robert (Bob) Lindbeck, his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Viste, his brother Calvin Lindbeck and his niece Valerie Wright.
The memorial service will be private. The family does not expect flowers or condolences. Donations may be made to the North Texas Food Bank.

GVL, TX Thursday, September 4, 2025 I started work at a E-System 36 years ago and Les and I were in the same group at that time. He was always known for his technical abilities and his pragmatic approach to work and life. All of us who worked with him over the years will miss that sense of humor that connected well with friends and colleagues. He is most certainly missed by all of us.Denis Rottler
Rowlett, TX Thursday, September 4, 2025 Many of us at the L-3 Harris, L-3, Raytheon, E-Systems, LTV facility in Greenville, TX have had the pleasure of working with Les. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Les for 30+ years. Les was also a member of the Majors Flying Club (MFC). The MFC is largely composed of employees and retirees from L-3 Harris. The MFC is based at the airport with L-3 Harris. The plane Les flew to South Dakota was very likely one of the club planes. As a member of the MFC, Les participated in just about every one of the Scout Aviation Workshops (SAW) which have been held twice a year for the last 20 years. The MFC hosts the SAW to give scouts the opportunity to earn their Aviation Merit Badge and get a ride in a general aviation aircraft. We understand how private Les was and we understand his wish for his memorial to be a private event. His friends at L-3 Harris and the Majors Flying Club may hold our own Memorial Service for Les. If that happens and if the family is interested in knowing about that memorial, maybe Coker-Mathews can reach out to me and arrange to share my email address privately with the family.
I did not share Les' passion for running, but we did share the enjoyment of a handball match. Les, myself, and another L-3 employee ran around on the handball court at the Greenville YMCA once a week fairly regularly for several years. Les was a quiet, private, and respected man who involved himself in many different hobbies and volunteer efforts. Even after 30+ years, I learned things about Les that I did not know.
A common refrain among pilots is "blue skies and tailwinds" and that is what is wish for Les.

Rockwall, TX Wednesday, September 3, 2025 Les was a man of few words, but when he spoken, you bet everyone was listening. I am so lucky to have worked with him as he was a delight and always had a smile on his face. He will be missed dearly.
